Summary of Changes to Award Program Evaluated Nominees will be Recognized as Reaching a Bronze, Silver or Gold (highest) level of Achievement An over-all “Best of the Best” will be identified in each Category. A “Newcomer of the Year” will be chosen among those companies that have never participated or have not been nominated for past three years.

Companies that won the HBR Safety Excellence Award the year before will serve as Mentors this year and will not be eligible to compete Feedback to all nominees will include element scores of zero and one. New guidelines for Audit Teams and Leaders have been developed Credit will be given for Year-to-Year Improvement in Safety Statistics and for Documenting and Implementing Best Practices
