Hitler's steps to Dictator of Germany & Holocaust

Hitler helped Nazis grow by recruiting and people wanting to hear him speak Beer Hall Putsch- attempt by the Nazis to overtake the German government Nazi’s failed= Hitler jailed for 9 months for treason While in Prison- wrote Mien Kampf (my struggle)

After Prison Hitler Became a German citizen Ran for presidency-lost to president Hindenburg Nazis still had over 200 seats in Rietsch (like our congress) Offered Hitler vice chancellor- to watch him and control him All Nazis striked during voting as a way to force President Hindenburg to appoint Hitler to chancellor (eventually worked)

While vice chancellor- Nazi’s burned down Reichstag building down Hitler blamed this on communist terrorist Said if they were not stopped they would continue these acts of terror He came up with the Enabling act- said this would give him power to catch these terrorist but he would be dictator if this was signed
