Compressed air and demineralised water networks RB84 RB86 - the arrows indicate from where the existing pipelines have to be prolonged - in light blue on the RB84 side the demineralised water network - in white on both sides the compressed air network

Outer Tracker – Requirements Pressure drop inside the detector (including all piping located after the manifolds) 1.5 bars Flow rate 10 m 3 /h (flow to the detector) 1 m 3 /h (flow in the demineralization loop) Inlet temperature19 ± 1 °C Temperature increasing inside the detector2 °C Volume of coolant in the detector (including all piping located after the manifolds) 50 litres Demineralised water conductivity0.1 to 1 mS/cm Cooling capacity23 kW CERN Mixed water network: - Inlet temperature - ΔT available - Inlet pressure - ΔP available 13 °C 5 °C (!) 10 bar (a) 2 bar Ambient conditions inside the cavern: - Dry temperature - Dew point 17 to 27 °C ≤12 °C Paolo Guglielmini TS / CV / DC08th April 2005

Outer Tracker – Principle Schema Paolo Guglielmini TS / CV / DC08th April 2005

Pipe works in the UX85 experimental cavern Activities related to WORK LOT 1 - fixation of the supports for 16 transfer lines (OT included) along the RB84 side and on top of the vault TX84 - installation of the OT transfer lines in stainless steel (multilayer pipes use to be quoted as an option) - installation of the supply/return OT distribution manifolds Activities related to WORK LOT 4 - installation of pipelines for chilled and mixed water (RB86), demineralised water (RB84), compressed air (both sides) networks, including supports and required equipments Due to INTEGRATION matters the detailed activities shall be scheduled and performed during: JUNE – JULY 2005 Paolo Guglielmini TS / CV / DC08th April 2005

Integration in the SCADA local supervision IT 3307 – Paragraph “Communication” Four additional cooling systems will also be locally supervised and operated from the SCADA local supervision platform. These cooling systems are controlled by 3 PLCs, which are also built on Schneider Premium TSX equipment. These PLCs are not included in the scope of the supply of this Technical Specification. 1 PLCInner Tracker - Tracker Trigger 1 PLCRICH 1 & 2 1 PLCVELO The Contractor shall integrate in the SCADA local supervision platform database the process data from these 3 external PLCs. The Contractor shall develop, test, install and validate on-site the local supervision means corresponding to these external cooling stations... Provided commissioning of the cooling systems whose PLCs shall be integrated: end of FEBRUARY 2006 Paolo Guglielmini TS / CV / DC08th April 2005
