World Library of Toxicology Chemical Safety, and Environmental Health Connecting Scientists and Experts to Improve Global Health More Information:

Online - Web-based portal containing links to country information resources. Subject scope – Toxicology, chemical safety, environmental health, occupational safety and health, risk assessment, and radiation. What is the WLT?

Country Correspondents (CCs) securely manage and edit country information on a wiki platform. Managed by – Toxipedia / INND – see Who supports WLT?

Funded by – U.S. National Library of Medicine and Toxipedia / INND Partners – U.S. National Library of Medicine, Toxipedia / INND, and IUTOX Partners/Funders of WLT?

Wiki based – secure, easy to update Scope – Multi-lingual - regional and international International Advisory Board HON (Health on the Net) Certified Features of WLT?

 Scattered information needs organization, consolidation, and interconnectivity to be of use.  Political, travel, economic, and communication boundaries between many countries are becoming porous.  Toxicologists will benefit by learning of toxicological activities of their colleagues in other countries and at a multi-lateral level. Why WLT?

 It can serve as a catalyst to stimulate collaborative projects and a resource tool to reduce duplication of effort.  Toxicologists in developing countries will be able to contribute resources and learn about activities in the developed world. Why WLT?

 Including resources of consumer interest will help educate the public.  It provides a single source that incorporates links to toxicology sites in both the country’s native language and English.  It offers a portal that adheres to the principles of quality, reliability, and credibility. Why WLT?

 It establishes a network of Country Correspondents for building and maintaining country sites.  It can demonstrate the feasibility of creating similar portals in other fields such as medicine and art. Why WLT?

 Primary Goals  Share Information  Improve global / public health  Encourage collaboration The World Library of Toxicology, Chemical Safety, and Environmental Health
