 Infinitive is non-finite form of the verb. e.g. to read, to write, to hear.

 Subject: To smoke is bad for health. -- Курить вредно для здоровья. То weld metals is possible by means of heat produced by a current – Сваривать металлы можно- посредством тепла, производимого током.

 Infinitive group, following after the structures it is necessary, it is possible, produces subject’s function. e.g.It was necessary to do something (D. L..) -- Необходимо было что-то сделать

 Predicate e.g. You must learn these rules.  Object e.g. I will be pleased to help you.  Attribute  e.g. I’m sorry, I’m the last to come.

1. Complex Object (1) (to want, to wish, to like, to hate, to expect, to believe, to suppose, to know, to think, to understand, to consider, to find, to allow) e.g. I want you to remember this rule.

1. Complex Object (2) e.g. I knew him to be very clever. (to see, to hear, to feel, to watch, to notice, to let and make) “to”is not necessary. e.g. Books make me think.

 Complex subject E.g. The book is considered to be very popular. They are said to work hard over their English. (перевод начинается со2части)

 “For” construction. E.g. Everybody waited for the meeting to start. It is a book for you to read. COMPARE I want to learn English. I want you to learn English.

 The construction is used after the verbs in the Passive. The sentences are translated into Russian starting with the predicate.  Видели что….  Говорят что….  Сообщают что…  E.g. He was seen to pass the exam.
