Agree , Appear, Arrange, Care, Decide, Demand,Expect, Fail, Happen, Hope, Hurry,Like, Need, Promise, Prove,Refuse, Seem, Wait, Wish etc……
EXAMPLE:
I hope to see her soon.
Tom decided to sell his car.
He seems to be very angry.

3. List 2: VERB + OBJECT + To - inf
Advice, Allow, Ask, Beg, Believe,Bring, Encourage, Force,Invite, Order, Permit, Persuade, Request,Teach, Tell, Warn…
EXAMPLE:
He permitted me to enter the house.
Tom asked us to forgive him.
We forced him to tell us the secret.

4. List 3: ADJECTIVE + TO – inf
Alarmed,Delighted, Disappointed, Happy, Likely, Pleased,Shocked, Sorry, Surprised, Willing…
EXAMPLE:
We shall be happy to accept.
Mary is delighted to hear that you have recovered.

5. BARE INFINITIVE Bare infinitive is used after the following patterns
Group 1: Will, Shall,Can, May, Do, Does, Must and their past equivalents.

6. EXAMPLES Wrong:Did Tom passed the examination?
Did Tom pass the examination?
Wrong: Mary does not cares for her family.
Mary does not care for her family.

7. BARE INFINITIVE
Group 2: See, Watch, Notice, Observe, Hear, Listen, Feel, Smell
(these are called verbs of perception)

8. EXAMPLES Wrong:I heard him called me yesterday.
I heard him call me yesterday.
Wrong:I saw Peter left an hour ago.
I saw Peter leave an hour ago

9. BARE INFINITIVE Group 3: Make , Let Examples:
Wrong: The teacher made us worked all night
The teacher made us work all night.
Wrong:Jane lets her children stayed up very late.
Jane lets her children stay up very late.

10. BARE INFINITIVE Group 4: Need, Dare Examples:
You need not stay if you don’t want to.
You do not need to stay if you don’t want to.
Need we stay this evening?
Do we need to stay this evening?

11. INFINITIVE AFTER ADJECTIVE+OF
personal qualities
The preposition which follows is “OF”
adjective + of + objective + to-inf

12. EXAMPLES It is very kind of you to do me a favor.
It is very foolish of him to be lazy.
It is crazy of her to go off like that.

13. INFINITIVE AFTER ADJECTIVE
impersonal qualities
The preposition which follows is “For”
adjective + for + object + to-inf

14. EXAMPLES
It is important for her to come straight to me when she arrives.
It is essential for you to book in advance.
It is not easy for you to get him to change his mind.
