Erika O. 4 th Period

Zapotec The population of the Zapotec is about 800,000-1,000,000. They believe in two gods, the god of rain and the god of sun. They still practice the burial of the dead with their valuables. Most of the Zapotec Indians today are catholic.

Questions How do the Zapotec Indians of Mexico's values, traditions, and beliefs relate to you? The Zapotec culture relates to me because older kids are regularly the caretakers of the younger kids and that happens a lot with me. What are some similarities you can relate to and differences you can not? I can relate to the Zapotec because they make their older kids take care of the younger siblings. Something that is different that does not relate to them is that they believe in two gods, a rain god and a sun god.
