Sacred Texts: Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita The Vedas guide Hindus in their daily life. These are the oldest scriptures of Hinduism. The Upanishads consider the nature of the individual soul and the universal soul. They also contain the earliest reference to reincarnation. Have been passed down through oral traditions for thousands of years. Interactions with gods and goddess helped to gain support for authority and government.
