What does it mean to “Fear God”

“Fear God and keep His commandments” Ecclesiastes 12:13 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: A good understanding have all they that do His commandments.” Psalm 111:10 “The fear of the Lord is to hate evil, pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, the perverted mouth do I hate.” Proverbs 8:13 “Fearing God tends to righteousness and everlasting life” Proverbs 19:23

To fear God means: to get instruction in His commandments which is wisdom so that you will learn to hate evil and love righteousness, which tends to everlasting life.

“Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots. Then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to doing evil.” Jeremiah 13:23

“If you love me, Keep my commandments” John 14:15

What does it mean to “Give Glory to Him”

“The Heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament shows His handy work” Psalm 19:1

“The sight of the glory of the Lord was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel.” Exodus 24:17

How do we give glory to God?

“…and with Him , having his name written on their foreheads.” Revelation14:1

“For it is God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus.” 2 Corinthians 4:6
