C ALVARY C HAPEL S OUTH B AY 3 Job Seekers Ministry Or How to prevent getting this …

C ALVARY C HAPEL S OUTH B AY 4 Christians in the Workplace Being a Godly (Excellent) Employee What can I do to keep what God has provided? Ephesians 6:5-9

C ALVARY C HAPEL S OUTH B AY 5 Let’s read Ephesians 6:5-9 together 5 Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; 6 not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, 7 with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, 8 knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free. 9 And you, masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening, knowing that your own Master also is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him. Let’s examine these verses…

C ALVARY C HAPEL S OUTH B AY 6 5 Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; Respect your master (boss) God has ordained the authority/submission principle. Somebody has to direct and someone has to follow. If you cannot respect your boss, then respect them for the position God has placed them. Because God has assigned them to that job ~ be obedient 1 Timothy 6:1, Titus 2:9, 1 Peter 2:18 Carryout your boss instructions, this is your performance testimony. Exception: Unless the instructions are immoral or against the Word of God

C ALVARY C HAPEL S OUTH B AY 7 6 not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, Do Your Best All the Time Do not have any regrets about your productivity. Ever thought, “I just don’t feel like doing this today”? Remember Who you serve and represent. Ask at the beginning of your work shift: “Lord, how can I give You my very best?” Ask at the end of your work shift: “Lord, how did I do?” Ecclesiastes 9:10, 1 Corinthians 15:58, Timothy 2:15, Proverbs 15:3 Eyeservice is working when the boss is looking, but God sees you all the time. Do your best always, especially if no one seems to be watching.

C ALVARY C HAPEL S OUTH B AY 8 7 with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, We serve God, not the boss or a corporation Every task you do as an offering to God proves your devotion to Him and a spirit-filled life. Seeking to please only men, brings discouragement and borders on idolatry Help others, but do it for God’s sake and not for your own glory or for the gratitude/reward from others. Colossians 3:2, 1 Corinthians 10:31, Proverbs 4:23 Honor to God is demonstrated by proper actions originated from the heart. Serve God cheerfully in everything you do ~ He’s the one that counts!

C ALVARY C HAPEL S OUTH B AY 9 8 knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free. Whatever we do, God rewards accordingly God knows everything you do. He sees your motivations and judges and rewards accordingly. Your motive must be out of love for God, from a pure heart. Luke 16:10-12, Hebrews 11:6, Ecclesiastes 2:24 God will reward you appropriately for your attitude and actions Great is His Faithfulness

C ALVARY C HAPEL S OUTH B AY 10 9 And you, masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening, knowing that your own Master also is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him. This is for managers/supervisors (The shepherds of employees) As in verse eight, your motive must be out of love for God. Don’t abuse/threaten employees, respect them ~ control your temper Do not play favorites ~ every employee must be treated the same. Hold employees accountable for their actions (good or bad). Love and pray for your employees. Help them as best you can (listen & act). Ask God’s wisdom and well-being for them (encourage) 1 Kings 12:7, Acts 10:34, James 2:9 Treat your employees like God treats you, love them as God loves you. Be fair, respectful, appreciate, and encourage them. This is what the Lord expects.

C ALVARY C HAPEL S OUTH B AY 11 Ask for Wisdom ~ Read The Word and Pray ~ hint: make sure the reason for getting wisdom is to be used for His glory. Get Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding. Fearing (revering) God is where it starts Proverbs 1:2, Proverbs 3:13-18, James 4:3 Work on improving your attitude (heart) ~ hint: Ask God to change your heart and align your will to His will. It has been said that Attitude determines Altitude. You cannot outgrow your devotional life Joshua 1:8, 1 Peter 2:18-20 Do your very best everyday on the job ~ hint: Be grateful for having a job by giving your best performance ~ hint: Thank God by bringing Him glory at work, through work Check your Gauges frequently. Joy and Thankfulness should be filled to overflowing 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Much Be a Godly (excellent) employee because you represent and work for Jesus Christ!

C ALVARY C HAPEL S OUTH B AY 12 Job Seekers Ministry … do all as unto the Lord Colossians 3:17-23
