Time for Everything

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

What is Time? Time is both friend and foe: – It gives us structure. – It gives us limits. Some allow time to: limit their faith at times it kills faith

Where Does Your Time Go? The Average American (Age 25+) – 8.7 Working – 2.6 Leisure and Sports – 1.1 Household Activities – 1.1 Eating – 1.7 Caring for Others – 1.2 Driving – 7.6 Sleeping Where does God fit in your 24hr day?

Time in Prayer Pray without ceasing. (I Thess. 5:17) All men everywhere pray (I Tim. 2:8) Jesus taught us how to pray (Matt. 6:9ff) Jesus made time to pray (Mark 1:35)

Time in His Word Delight in His word. (Psalm 1:2) Is it engrafted on our heart? (Psalm 119:11) Do we search it daily? (Acts 17) Do we study it constantly? (II Timothy 2:15)

Time in His Word Can we speak to God like David? “Search me, Oh God, know my heart; try me and know my thoughts (Psalm 139:23).”

Time Spreading His Word Is it worth telling? – Mark 16:16 – Mark 5:19 We all want to follow! But all of us need to share!

God Spent Time For You He Planned from the first… – From the first transgression God planned to send a Savior. Genesis 3:15 “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your off spring and hers; He will crush your head and you will strike His heel.”

Time was Important to God 300 Years between the testaments… God again would choose to speak to the people. Galatians 4:4 “But when the time had fully come, God sent His Son to be born of a woman, born under the law.”

The Time Had Come Established Salvation Through – An Established Savior Matthew 16:13-18 Matthew 17:5 Romans 5:6 “For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.”

The Time Had Come Established Salvation In His church – Daniel 2 -“Those Kings” – Mark 9:2 – apostolic time frame – Matthew 16:18- His church “…And on this rock I will build My church…”

Time is in Your Favor We await His return – Time will eventually run out You think you have one more day –Matthew 24:36 Why do the innocent suffer- Revelation 6 Why Obey the Gospel? –II Thessalonians 1:9,10

There is Still Time.. Time to put on Christ… Time to be added to His Church… Time to make things right with God…
