 1.Mr. Tolkien`s childhood 2.War in Tolkien's life 3.The Beginning of creativity 4.The amazing saga 5.Who knows about it? 6.Critics' opinion about «Lord Of Rings» 7.Comparison of publishers 8.The meaning of «Lord Of Rings» Plan :

 The ambition of this project is popularity works of J. Tolkien, because Tolkien made a great contribution to English literature and became a real king of fantasy. You should listen to the story of a great man. My ambition

 John R.R. Tolkien was born in 1892 in family of English colonizers. John`s dad died of a fever when John was three. John's mother couldn`t live in a house where her husband died and she decided to move to the countryside, in Sarehole. The beauty of nature amazed boy, he always fell in love with the beauty of the trees, and nature of Sarehole appears in every work of the writer. From early childhood, the boy went into fantasy world, he imagined and made his own fairy tails and dreamed about a dragon. But soon his mother died. The priest took John and his brother in the pupils. Then John became interested in languages, he was a great linguistic talent. John has studied many ancient languages, and even invented his own language - elfish. The first language was «newbosh». Childhood

 When Tolkien grown up, he wanted to become a soldier. In this time began the First World War, and all England fought with enemies. John learned in Oxford, and when he finished his study shinely and get a honour of first class, and often this he became a lieutenant. In 1916 John will go in first fight with company of Lancashire shooters. Tolkien was destined to be in center of a grand grinder, on the river Somma, where ten thousand of his brethren were killed. John to the end hated war when he knew the "horrors and abominations of the monstrous massacre." War in Tolkien's life

 Once John Tolkien wrote in his diary: "If I did not have these terrible days near the soldiers, there would be no Shire“. John was alive, and he hadn`t been wounded. But he discovered disease - typhus, which claimed more lives than bullets. John seriously ill, and at the time when it let go him, he began to create the characters. So he began to write fantastic epic - Silmarillion. The Beginning of creativity

 Tolkien was mad about writing, and it was never enough. He wrote, then stopped, and began to write something new. The Silmarillion was the foundation of his work. John worked hard on his fairy tale "The Hobbit." He always laughed at her, because he watched the hobbit in himself, and hobbit`s adventures were his dream. "The Hobbit" will appeal to many people, especially young readers, and they asked him to write a siquel. Then the writer began work on the saga "The Lord of the Rings", which unimaginable impressed many readers and called a stir. The amazing saga

 I`ve interviewed some people, and understand that the opinions about this book or the movie are different. Many students said very simply: «Normal». Several students colorfully expressed their admiration about film, but they haven't read the book. And some students didn`t like the show. But we don't blame anyone, everyone has different tastes. Who knows about « Lord Of Rings » students studentswatchedreadliked

 The most critics in world admire «Lord of Rings», and set on example it. Now let's look at the opinion of British, American and Russian critics and readers. I looked about 70 Russian and English sites and forums where express their opinion and professional literary critics and simple readers. I did some calculations and founded, that about 60% praised the book. The rest said unpleasant about it, even with coarse insults.  The Americans usually in the delighted. Publication of the book in America fell during the popular subculture "hippies" and therefore Lord of the Rings did a real "boom" among that generation, and now Americans really like the movie.  The British are proud of this work. People are inspired by it, change their lives. Some critics consider the "Lord of Rings" part of British culture. Also among the critics are those who haven't read the book, and they evaluated only film that, in their opinion, has not held up masterpiece.  Opinions of Russian critics agree on one thing: The Lord of Rings is perfect, but it is not literature, but the whole world, and everyone chooses, he wants to live in it or not. Because of this there is conflict in their opinions. People`s opinion about « Lord Of Rings »

 Comparison of publishers Russian  In Russia, a lot of different covers for this book, I chose this. It is colorful, festive, and has an episode of one of their adventures on it. British  In British a lot of different covers, too. This is - a classic cover of the British type of book. It emanates secrets and comfort.

 It has been written for 12 years and gave the birth to "The Lord of Rings" - a thousand-page work, which will create a whole genre of literature and will be the best example. Created by John Ronald Reuel Tolkien this fairy tale is the world of Middle-ages with mythological creatures, impresses us by its realism and attractiveness. Characters are resourceful and brave all the time. Tolkien, by accident, tells the children about the infinity of possibilities. Writer saw breathtaking scenery, and he embodied them. He saw bloody battles, and also embodied them. His characters could go for a long way in order to fulfill their purpose, to see so many new adventures can be experienced. They never gave up and fought until the end. This is a great motivation for our generation. The meaning of « Lord Of Rings »
