Health Care Philosophy, Critical Components and Goals

FACULTY SENATE HEALTH CARE PHILOSOPHY 4 The University of Miami is committed to investing in the health of its faculty and staff. This commitment is demonstrated through various programs and health- related benefits including wellness activities, educational opportunities, preventive care, disease management, health insurance plans, and access to quality care at UHealth. Through these programs and benefits, we encourage faculty, staff and their families to strengthen their personal health and well-being.

Plan Design & Premiums

FACULTY SENATE 2012 PLAN DESIGN - HIGHLIGHTS 8 Plan options remain – Select 1, Select 2 and HRA No increase to deductibles or copays Continue the Online HRA and Know Your Numbers Campaign with total $150 incentive credit High end imaging (MRI/PET/CT) only available at UHealth system (certain exceptions apply) UHealth currently performs almost 70% of all high end imaging New UHealth phone line will help employees schedule an appointment at any of the UM facilities Multiple imaging machines available at Medical Campus and Kendall, plus Deerfield Beach and new Plantation location (opening 2012) Exceptions for which service will be covered at the UHealth-level copay include: Imaging not available at UHealth. Examples include pediatric invasive imaging and open MRI Radiation therapy related daily imaging Services received outside of Miami-Dade/Broward Imaging performed in an emergency room (ER copay applies)

FACULTY SENATE 2012 PLAN DESIGN – HIGHLIGHTS cont’d 9 Save a Copay Generic Incentive Program Plan members on selected brand name medications will be invited by Aetna to switch to generic medications with incentive of no copayment for six months for the new medication Program is voluntary, no penalty for non-participation Incentivized Mail Order Program for Maintenance Medications For maintenance meds, member can move to mail order for best benefits (3-month supply for 2.5x monthly copay) If member does not choose to move to mail order, retail copay will increase by 50% after the third filled prescription at retail Enrolling in the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) program can help employees transition to mail order and provide additional savings to employees

FACULTY SENATE 2012 ADDITIONAL BENEFITS 12 Dental - CIGNA DHMO 5% increase for 2012 Premiums have not increased in 4 years Dental – Delta Dental PPO No increase for 2012 Dependent Care Flexible Spending Adding grace period to Dependent Care to match Health Care FSA Will allow participants to spend 2012 funds until March 15, 2013 and extend filing deadline to June 15, 2013

Transit Program

FACULTY SENATE TRANSIT PROGRAM – OVERVIEW 14 Program began in 1986 with 200 users and has grown to almost 3,000 users Over 80% of transit program participants are at Medical Campus Review of utilization data indicates that a portion of passes are unused, are used for parking only or are used to travel to destinations other than UM destinations Employees with pay increases that crossed the earnings threshold often saw entire increase deducted for higher transit pass cost To address the issues above, the program has been revised as follows: Current Program SalaryMetrorail PassMetrorail Parking $35k or lessFree $35K to $100K$53.75$6.87 $100K+$85$10 New Program SalaryMetrorail PassMetrorail Parking $35k or less$10 $35K to $40K$25$10 $40K to $45K$40$10 $45K to $50K$55$10 $50K to $70K$70$10 $70K+$85$10
