Do Now: Examine the pictures in the packet in your groups… How did these pictures make you feel?

A: Genocide of the Jews B: Final Solution C: Extermination of the Jews -the attempt by Nazi Germany to murder all the Jews of Europe during World War II -Hitler’s philosophy of hatred & anti-Semitism combined with his absolute power & modern technology allowed him to kill 2/3s of all European Jews. --Hitler also wanted to kill handicapped people & gypsies. -large concentration camps were built -Jews from all over Europe were sent to camps -Most were killed by poison gas; bodies were burned in ovens & buried in mass graves -Some were spared & used to do work in the camps -Survivors nearly starved to death
