TLCs PDQ A Brief Overview of 2009 Themed Learning Communities Lauren Chism, Director, Themed Learning Communities

The following information has been collected through TLC paperwork submitted. Percentages may increase as planning for 2009 TLCs is still in progress. In most instances (Service Learning excluded) the TLCs aim to provide a foundation for RISE experiences; the 2009 TLCs listed may not fully qualify for RISE transcript notations.

Bigger AND Better Bigger:  33 TLCs in 2009  10% increase from 2008  371% increase from 2003  Capacity to serve 825 entering students (approximately 1/3 anticipated FTFT) Better:  Exciting new themes & descriptions  Wide participation in a number of campus initiatives.
