Northeastern University – Class of ‘73 Senior Principal, Simpson Gumpertz & Heger BS and SM (MIT) in civil engineering (structures) Ph.D. in geotechnical engineering Expertise in structural design and performance of buried pipes, tanks, and culverts Mentor for NEU Uganda project since June ‘09

Capstone Project: Water Supply Phase 2 Objective: From existing water sources, provide multiple water distribution points around the village of Bbanda.

Capstone Project: Water Supply Phase 2 Project criteria 25 year design life Use water from boreholes and springs as needed Provide storage facility with min. 48 hr water supply for all residents in village Distribute water to sufficient village locations to provide maximum ¼ mile travel from any home No local power available Project must be sustainable by local population and with local resources
