Mohave County is geographically the second largest county in the state. Most of the county land is classified as desert, but of its 13,479 square miles, 186 square miles are water. The county boasts 1,000 miles of shoreline consisting of the Colorado River, Lake Mohave, and Lake Havasu (both man-made lakes). Mohave County

LEED: Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System ® is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings. USGBC's members, representing every sector of the building industry, developed and continue to refine LEED. LEED standards include:USGBC's members LEED-NC: New commercial construction and major renovation projects LEED Application Guides: Retail (currently in pilot), Multiple Buildings/Campuses, Schools, Healthcare, Laboratories, LodgingLEED Application Guidescurrently in pilot OPUS West Corporation: Project Manager

Green buildings have less negative impact on the environment than standard buildings. Their construction minimizes on-site grading, saves natural resources by using alternative building materials, and recycling construction waste rather than sending truck after truck to landfills. A majority of a green building’s interior spaces have natural lighting and outdoor views, while highly efficient HVAC (heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning) systems and low-VOC (volatile organic compound) materials like paint, flooring, and furniture create a superior indoor air quality. Sustainable Site Erosion and Sedimentation Control Reduce Site Disturbance, development footprint Light Pollution Reduction Landscape and Exterior Design to Reduce Heat Islands, roof Green Features

Water Efficiency Bleed water from HVAC system stored in grey water tank used to water landscaping Desert landscaping utilized Waterless urinals are utilized throughout building Green Features

Energy and Atmosphere Additional Commissioning on the building was completed to ensure the building design was constructed and operated as intended A measurement and verification plan was utilized during construction to ensure ongoing accountability and optimization of building energy Computer Controlled HVAC CFC Reduction in HVAC7R Equipment

Green Features Materials and Resources Construction Waste Management, divert 75% Storage and Collection of Recyclables Recycled Content, specify 5% Local/Regional Materials, 20% manufactured locally Certified Wood used

Green Features Indoor Environmental Quality A permanent CO2 monitoring system keeps CO2 levels down All paints, adhesives, and sealants utilized had a low VOC content Indoor chemical and pollutant source control Thermal Comfort, permanent monitoring system, comply with ASHRAE
