It was a very misty day when the year six’s from Reignier school were about to go to Camp Kataiwa. It was such a bad day but everyone was pumped and ready to go.The week was amazing and full of fun activities to do. Monday, everyone was bursting with excitement when we had just got in the cars but when we finally got there everyone was blood shot. Adam, Brandan and I were the second to bags our bunks. All I wanted to do was to eat then go to bed, but guess what we HAD to do??? To go for a walk. It was kind of fun but I was coated in rain. When we got back I could smell this delish smell. The first thing I did when I got in was to get a different pair of clothes on. Once everyone had walked into the dining hall that glorious smell came back but when we came in NOTHING was on the dining tables. After that the spag bol was dished out. It was YUM! BY MATTHEW KAUI

Tuesday. Breakfast. Everyone packed into the dining hall. We had breaky then packed our bags and off we went to Ngamoko. Once we got to the top it was probably one the most highest I have ever been in my whole life. When we were going back to camp I thought we were going to drive back but we didn’t so we walked back. It was a fun walk but tiring. When we got back we had the most extravagant burgers watched Ice age three and had some snacks while watching. After that we went to bed.

Wednesday, the worst sleep I have ever had. I felt like a zombie. When we got up I slopped into the dining room and then had some grub. When everyone heard that we were going caving we were flashed with excitement.I packed my bag as fast as I could to find out that we were actually going to Michael Noonan's grave, don don don. I really wanted to go caving first. When we started walking it actually looked really cool. Once we got to a stop and there was a prison. Then we saw a snipering spot by the lake then we went on to the lake for morning tea and saw Michal Noonan's grave and some other graves. When we got back we got to a little hut by the cars. We had lunch. After lunch we headed off to the caves. Once we arrived at the caves we got into our groups and set off. The caving spot was full of all different caves, small ones, big ones, every type. At the end I was soaked but I was glad to get back to camp dinner. Then we had dessert and did our quiz and went to bed.

Thursday, once we got up we shot to the dining room. We had breakfast and packed our bags and off we went to Waikaremoana. This time Brandan, Adam and I went with Mrs Johnson. We started walking straight away. When we got to the lake we had morning tea then went back and had lunch. Then we went on another walk to see the waterfalls. When we got there we saw two huge water falls they were the biggest waterfalls I have ever seen before. Once we had done that we went back to camp in the cars. I thought that walk was cool. When we got back we did the obstacle course. It was really fun too. When we finished the obstacle course we did our cookouts but from my opinion my groups was the best. Finally when we were finished bloating ourselves with food we went back inside and had pudding then did our talent shows, quiz then went to bed.

Friday, when we got up everyone had breakfast then went outside to go for a play on the netball court. Then after that we said our last goodbyes to Camp Katawai and went off back home. Once we finally got back at school we all came back to Napier. We all met up with our Mums and Dads and all went home.
