FINAL| Public© Ipsos MORI How to take part in the Learner Voice Wales survey 2014

FINAL| Public© Ipsos MORI What is the Learner Voice Wales survey? A 10 minute survey, completed by over 50,000 learners across Wales An opportunity for learners to give their views on several aspects of their course or training. Learners who are enrolled in further education, work-based learning, adult community learning, and Welsh for Adults centres will all be taking part. The survey has been commissioned by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) in the Welsh Government. It will be conducted by an independent research organisation - Ipsos MORI

FINAL| Public© Ipsos MORI Why is the survey important? The Learner Voice Wales Survey will help your college or learning provider create a better experience for learners like you. Because all learners across Wales are taking part, your college or learning provider will also be able to see how they compare to other organisations that provide the same learning. It will also help the Welsh Government monitor the quality of courses, teaching and training across Wales.

FINAL| Public© Ipsos MORI What will the survey ask? The survey will ask you a series of questions about your learning experience, including questions on: The information and advice you’ve received The support given to you during your course or training How responsive the college or learning provider is to your needs The learning environment and student well-being The quality of teaching and training Your overall satisfaction with the college or learning provider. The survey also will also ask you a few questions about you. This information will be kept confidential and will only be used to help the Welsh Government analyse results by different types of learners.

FINAL| Public© Ipsos MORI How can I take part? You can take part between 9 December and 21 February The survey will be available in both English and Welsh. You can complete the survey either online at: or by completing a paper copy of the questionnaire, which will be handed to you by your teacher. All online responses are sent directly to Ipsos MORI. If you complete a paper copy, please place your answers in the envelope provided and seal it, before handing it back to your teacher or tutor. You will need to know your Provider Number and Learner Number to take part. These will be given to you by your teacher or tutor, please ask a member of staff if you are not sure. 14 th Jan

FINAL| Public© Ipsos MORI How will the data be used? Ipsos MORI will combine your answers will all other learners. This information will then be used by the Welsh Government, Estyn and your college or learning provider to help them improve the learning experience for you and other future learners. Ipsos MORI will keep your answers anonymous and strictly confidential. This means that none of your teachers will be able to see your responses. Your provider will not know which learners have taken part or what individual learners have said. The personal information collected in the survey will only be seen by Ipsos MORI, and will be used to help the Welsh Government analyse results by different types of learners.
