4 The intricacy of the defence innovation system require, while developing the concept and model for R&D management to conduct analyses at three levels – international, national and defence industry level.

9 Objective of the research To develop a NATO integrated R&D concept and model as an incremental tool for improvement of the national R&D management system.

10 Tasks of the research –To explore best practices and regulations. –To explore Defence Industry Transformation processes. –To formulate a Concept for Management of Security Related R&D. –To formulate a Model for Management of Security Related R&D. –To serve as a good example to encourage the further synergy and complementary cooperation between the governmental institutions and science institutions. –To identify the critical areas and the crucial problems referring the Defence Industrial Transformation.

Plans for the future We are planning to continue with the following actions: Identification, collection and exploration of developed countries’ good practices that can be used in R&D management concept and model development. Research of national innovation systems and their interdependence with defence innovation systems of countries in the project. Research the specificity of existing Defence R&D management systems Defence industry transformation process exploration.
