Veteran’s Day Poster Veteran’s Day Poster Service and Sacrifice Images for Inspiration and Tips for Making a good poster Take a look at these images to help you think about how posters can show a message. Really good posters have strong pictures that are colored well. Words on a poster should be easy to read. Remember that the letters should be shapes (that can be colored in) and you should decide where to place them in the poster as you are also thinking of where to put the pictures you want to add. Use all of the space of the poster paper. There should be something more important to look at that is bigger than everything else. TIPS

World War II Posters These kinds of posters were used around the country to keep Americans aware of what our military was doing overseas and to keep morale up in the country during these difficult times. Civilians were also called upon to help out here at home. The posters helped to encourage support of the military efforts. Tip: Examples of good poster design

This poster is showing the Navy asking the American people to help provide wood to make more ships. They needed this kind of advertising to help people to understand what sacrifices were needed at home while they fought the battles. Americans would need to work harder to get the lumber to the shipyards. It was like being part of a team. Think about: What sacrifices do the American people need to make today to support our military?

Another way to get the American people to be on the team was to purchase War Bonds.

Since the beginning of our country, the American military has protected freedom as one of the most respected qualities of life, both on our land and others. Since the beginning of our country, the American military has protected freedom as one of the most respected qualities of life, both on our land and others. Think about: How important is freedom to you? How would your life be different if you didn’t get to choose whether you could go to school or not, to practice your religion, where your family would live, what you would be when you grew up, what you were allowed to say and do?

Soldiers help to protect our American Freedoms Like Freedom of Speech Freedom of Speech

Americans can live in peace because of the sacrifices our military making to keep us safe.

When war came to foreign cities and towns during WWII, we sent food to assist the innocent civilians who were there.

Five brothers from the same family.

The ultimate sacrifice.

A list of places where important battles were fought during WWII.
