If we recycle the aluminum that Americans throw away we could rebuild the entire U.S. airline fleet every three months Recycling one glass bottle saves enough electricity to light a 100-watt bulb for four hours. The US has 6% of the world’s population, but produces half of the garbage. Each ton of recycled paper saves 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, 3 cubic yards of landfill, 4,000 kilowatts of energy, and 7,000 gallons of water.
