AAustralia is a country, an island, and a continent. IIt is located between the Indian Ocean and the South Pacific Ocean. IIt is the sixth largest country in the world. TTotal area of 7,686,850 square kilometers TThe western half is a plateau. TThe eastern half is known as the highlands.

TThe people of Australia enjoy an outdoor lifestyle with beaches, waterways, national parks, rainforests, and tropical reefs. OOne of the most preferred place for new businesses because of low taxes and plenty of room to expand.

AAustralia’s largest exports go to Japan, China, the United States, Republic of Korea and New Zealand. CCoal and Iron are their major exports. IIn 2006 Australia was the largest exporter of coal, wool, zinc, and tin ores.

SSection 19 of the 1948 Act stated: "An Australian citizen who, under the law of a foreign country, is a national or citizen of that country and serves in the armed forces of a country at war with Australia shall, upon commencing so to serve, cease to be an Australian citizen.“ AAll Australia citizens have laws to follow like any other country.

CCyclones along the northern coast cause many economic problems. SSevere thunder storms, droughts, and floods can affect the agriculture. TThere are also frequent bushfires which can lead to an uncontrolled fire.

AAustralia has one of the most urbanized populations in the world. TThe population is made up of many different cultures like Aboriginal and Anglo-Irish. DDuring World War II many immigrants from Britain, Ireland, Italy, Greece, the Netherlands, Malta and Eastern Europe, and later from the Middle East, East and South-East Asia came to Australia.

NNeighboring countries include Indonesia, East Timor, and Papua New Guinea to the north, the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, and the French dependency of New Caledonia to the northeast, and New Zealand to the southeast.

AA prosperous, free market country. AAustralia is one of the most laissen-faire capitalist economies.
