U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command 2 CDMRP Background The Office of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) Provides:  Research administration for multiple large biomedical research programs  Life cycle management from determination of research gaps, release of RFP, receipt of and two tier review of research proposals  Scientific advisors on award negotiation and oversight  Public relations to inform shareholders and encourage applicants  Scope  manage approximately $500M of new research funds each fiscal year  process 12,000 to 14,000 new research applications/pre- applications per fiscal year  manage approximately 5,000 open grant awards at any given time  Workforce Structure:  25% military/civil service/IPA  75% contractor support
