Practicum Series The goals of the course include: Designing inquiry based activities Awareness of professional development Focus on educational methods, concepts, theory, and assessment Reading books on K-12 classroom science and mathematics Exposure to leading STEM educators

STEP Structure –Overall 6 schools 24 teachers 6 Fellows 6 PI’s 4 Coordinators –Individual 1 school 4 teachers 1 Fellow

Observations and Implementations 1 st 4 weeks of academic year (September) –Observations of 4 teachers –Journal with specific questions, notes, and reflections 2 nd 4 weeks of academic year (October) –Create first major by November 1 st –Begin interacting with students on daily basis November through June –Create 5 majors (lessons or STEMcinnati thematic units) –6 week lesson creation timeline
