Enter Your Course Information XanEdu needs your course and institution information before you can adopt your finished CoursePack. We’ll use that information to make your CoursePack available for your students to purchase.

Or online access plus a packaged print copy? Do you want your students to buy your CoursePack online at xanedu.com, or in a specific bookstore? Click a results list item title to display the item. Your results list by default includes all matching documents from all collections. Click a tab to view only those results of a particular content type, such as Book Chapter. The number of matching items for each content type appears on each tab.

Your Search Results (continued) Beneath the tabs, click a link to view only those results from a specific collection. Use the drop-down at the top of your results list to sort by: most relevant, chronologically, or alphabetically by title. For any item in your results list, click Expand this item to view any available detailed citation and abstract. Click the ProQuest tab to run your search against the ProQuest databases.

Tip: Click the ReSearch Engine name to open it. Tip: Click near the ReSearch Engine title to select it. Then use the buttons above the article to open, annotate, move, copy, cut, or delete the ReSearch Engine.

Attach a Note to a Content Item 1.Move the cursor over the item that you want to attach a note to. 2.Click Attach Note. Notes can be addressed to students, or to other instructors if you decide to let other faculty at your school use your CoursePack.

Tip: Click the push pin to open the note. Tip: With the item selected, the Delete Note and Edit Note buttons are available.

All content items from XanEdu Collections— including ProQuest—are copyright cleared. If you want a document that you cannot find in either of those sources, we can copyright clear it for you and insert it into your CoursePack as a PDF.

Copyright Clearance Request Form 1.Complete the online form, entering as much information as you have about the item. 2.Click Submit. Tip: Use the tabs to select the appropriate content type. The entry fields will change accordingly.

The associated icon indicates that copyright clearance is pending. Depending on the publisher, the clearance process can take up to eight weeks. XanEdu will insert the item into your CoursePack as an Adobe Acrobat PDF when clearance is secured.

31Copyright 2004 ProQuest Information and Learning Company. All rights reserved. 30. Organize Your Topics and Items Use the buttons directly above each topic to move or delete a topic. Use the buttons directly above each item within a topic to open, annotate, move, copy, cut, or delete an item.

Include or Omit Specific Items Select the check box labeled Include in CoursePack to make the item available to students in your adopted CoursePack. Deselect the check box labeled Include in CoursePack to omit the item from your adopted CoursePack.

Tip: If you have made changes and 10 minutes has elapsed since you last saved, the Save button will subtly shift from white lettering to magenta to yellow, reminding you to save.

Tip: Although your CoursePack is automatically saved when you preview, it’s still a good idea to click Save regularly while you work in the Editor.

Although pending copyright clearances are visible in the preview, they will never be included in a finished adopted CoursePack. They will be replaced by the cleared item itself. Click Modify to return to the CoursePack Editor.

Verify or Enter Your Course Information If you entered your course and institution information when you first created your CoursePack, simply click Adopt. If you want to change any information, click Edit. If you did not already enter your information, complete the form, click Submit, and then adopt.

XanEdu will contact you by with instructions concerning online or bookstore availability and purchase of your CoursePack by students.
