Some facts about London: its area is about km² its population is about 8 million it was founded by Romans in 43 AD it was almost all destroyed by great fire in 1666 it is the capital of United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

When visiting London you shouldn`t miss out these sights: 1.Buckingham palace – it is home of British queen and her family 2.Big Ben and Houses of Parliament – each November the Queen opens the setting of Parliament 3.Trafalgar square with lions, pigeons and admiral Nelson`s column Queen Elizabeth II and her familyBuckingham palace

Probably the most famous sight is Tower Bridge First opened in It can open in the middle, so large ship can go through. This bridge connects two sides of river Thames. There are more bridges, e. g. Westmin- ster bridge, Waterloo bridge, princ Albert bridge.

The best way how to get round London is to use bus – red double decker. Or you can go by tube, in London called Underground. And don’t forget to buy a ticket!

Need relax? Head for park. Some famous London parks are: Hyde park, St. Jame’s park, Holland park, Kensington gardens, Battersea park and many more. Need shopping? Head for Oxford street, Regent street, Harrods – department store. Need entertainment? Head for Piccadily circus, Shaftesbury avenue, Leicester square.
