DAF Transnational Access Brief description of the accelerator infrastructure: Prague: U-120M cyclotron – H +, H  MeV 40-5  A; D +,D  MeV, 25-5  A, 3 He MeV 3  A and 4 He MeV 5  A; Zagreb: 6 MV EN tandem – more than 30 ion beams, among others: H, D, 3,4 He (up to 1  A, 18MeV), 10,11 B, Li, C, O and 35Cl MV and 1 MV Tandetron: protons MeV up to 10  A, D, O; Athens: 5.5 MV Van de Graaff tandem – p, d 30  A, 4 He, Li, 1  A, C, O 15  A, F 1  A, Ti, V… 0.5  A; Debrecen: Isochroneous LI cyclotron (K = 20) – p, d, 3He, 4 He from 0.2 MeV (p) to 27 MeV (3He) max 50  A; 5 MV Van de Graaff tandem – 1,2 H+, 4 He+, C+ 1 – 10  A. DAF How does DAF help to strengthen the European Nuclear Physics Research Infrastructure ? Expertise and research programme in the fields of nuclear structure physics and nuclear astrophysics Utilization of unique instruments at the different nodes of DAF The beam-time overload at the large-scale research infrastructure can be partially reduced and DAF will enable to distribute experimental projects of the community in a more economic way. Enhancement of inter-laboratory cooperation in Europe, which makes DAF an appropriate place for testing equipment, novel experimental techniques, or parts of these, and which can help to optimize these European accelerators and provide facilities for pilot experiments for the present and next generation facilities such as FAIR, SPIRAL2 and EURISOL.
