4 The Working Group recognises the importance of radioactive nuclear beam facilities for a broad programme of research in fundamental nuclear physics and astrophysics, as well as applications of nuclear science. A new generation of high-intensity RNB facilities of each of the two basic types, ISOL and In-Flight, should be built on a regional basis.
