Pyramids are buildings that keep dead bodies of all the pharaohs. The Ancient Egyptians thought that if they preserve the dead body it would be able to go to the afterlife (second life). The first pyramid was the step pyramid. The step pyramid was made out of lots of mastabas ( tombs).

Mummification is the process of making a mummy. It takes at least 70 days to make a mummy. 1.First, the body is dried. 2.Second, a hook is stuck through the nose and mashes up the brain and tips it out of the head into a basket. 3.Then they make a cut on the left hand side of the body. 4.Next, they take out all the eternal organs and put them in the canopic jars, the liver goes into the jar of imsety human, the intestines go into the jar of Qebehseneuf falcon, the stomach goes into the jar of Duamutef jackal, the lungs went into the jar of Hapy baboon, and the heart was left in the body. 5. Fifth, the body is cleaned with wine and spices. 6.After, they pack the body with straw. 7.Seventh, the body is covered in natron salt and left to dry out for 40 days. 8.Later, the cut is sealed with wax or resin, then it is covered with the 2 finger amulet for protection. 9.After that, it is wrapped up in 375m₂ of linen. The mummy mask is placed over the face. 10.Finally, the mummy is placed in the sarcophagus.
