Wage and Benefit Information Needs El Paso Sun City Wage and Benefit Survey  Market Based Focus Employees, Management, Executives, Boards ask for the average wages and benefits in the marketplace  Staffing Needs Ability to attract and retain employees Complex labor market Relatively high unemployment, available employees for most jobs, shortage of skilled workers  Cost Controls If underpaying, turnover and applicants force higher wages No information on overpayment without survey data

HR Response El Paso Sun City Wage and Benefit Survey  Use Regional, State, and National Survey Data Adjust to El Paso using COL or wage differentials Inaccurate and does not reflect the actual labor market in El Paso  Call Colleagues in HR Low sample size, low reliability, not an option if updating wages for entire organization Violates Dept. of Justice Guidelines  Update Entire Structure Inefficient, overpays jobs with no wage inflation and underpays jobs with above average wage inflation
