Sexual characteristics

What are sexual characteristics? They are the physical differences between men and women.

Primary sexual characteristics They are the reproductive organs

Secondary sexual characteristics They don´t necessarily relate to reproduction. Men Women low voice Facial hair Body hair Muscles Breasts High voice Wide hips

The female reproductive system It’s formed by various organs called genital organs.

The ovaries They produce sexual hormones and female sex cells called ovules.

Fallopian tubes They connect the ovaries to the uterus.

Uterus It’s an elastic hollow organ. During pregnancy, the baby grows here.

The vagina It’s the canal that connects the uterus to the outside of the body. THE VULVA It’s the external part. It’s formed by two folds of skin called lips.
