Work Package Task LAN/fabric networking. Evaluation of networking issues related to the fabric architectures under analysis in WP2. FTP Study of standardization status of the ftp protocol at IETF; Experimental evaluation of prototypes of the grid ftp, i.e. of different implementations of the extended ftp protocol under definition at the Grid Forum: e.g. gsiftp (Globus), NCftp (NASA) and Washington University ftp; Contribution to the definition of the extensions of the ftp protocol in collaboration with the Grid Forum; evaluation of the possibility to extend the protocol definition for the support of file transfer in a multicast scenarios through reliable multicast.
