CENTER FOR AUTOMOTIVE RESEARCH The largest university-based interdisciplinary automotive research center in the U.S. A national thought leader in research related to Sustainable Mobility and Automotive Technologies. A leader in novel collaborative relationships with industry, government and non-profit partners. Increasingly engaged in economic development initiatives with TechColumbus, Columbus 2020 and ODOD. In the past five years engaged 45 companies and 12 state and federal government agencies resulting in R&D expenditures of over $37M. CAR also offers engineering services and testing to industry partners, leveraging its experimental facilities. CAR has been awarded 4 Ohio Third Frontier (OTF) technology commercialization projects CAR has served as an incubator and spin-off for two companies currently housed at TechColumbus: PlugSmart, and CAR Technologies LLC Recognition: 2011 Innovation Award for Outstanding Technology Team from TechColumbus
