EXCUSES FOR ALMOST EVERYTHING By: Anna Whitehead

 Who here uses excuses almost all the time?

DIFFERENT KINDS OF EXCUSES  Didn’t do your homework? “I didn’t understand the homework, could you explain it to me so I can give it a second go?”  Got detention? “I had to go to a doctors appointment after school.”  Ever late to school? “My car broke down/ran out of gas, and I had to walk to school.”  Didn’t go to school? “I had to visit my grandma and she lives far away and she had fallen down the stairs.”

WHY DO WE USE EXCUSES  I don’t feel like doing this, what is an excuse I could say.....  I don’t know if I can do this.....  Well if I say this I wont get in trouble.....  This excuse is so true..... I wont get mad at you.....  I don’t want to face the truth.....  I don’t want to take responsibility.....

FAMOUS PEOPLE USE EXCUSES TOO?  Barak Obama uses excuses, yep! He saw a kid playing a game then the kid realized, he was late for school! President Obama wrote a note to the kid’s teacher saying, “Mr. Ackerman, please excuse Tyler. He was with me! Barak Obama.” Can you believe that!

CONCLUSION   There are excuses for almost EVERYTHING!  Why we use excuses so much.  Famous people use excuses too!  Sometimes you got to tell the truth.  “He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else.”- Benjamin Franklin  Thank you!
