2. Step #1: Stop
If I am playing a game with a kid and the kid gets mad, I should stop what I am doing.

3. Step #2: Explain I should not get mad at the kid for being mad.
I should explain so the kid is not mad anymore.
I can say, “Don’t be mad. It was only a game. Let’s play something else!”

4. Step #3: Ask Questions This should make the kid feel better.
If he does not feel better, I can ask, “Why are you mad?”
If I did something wrong, I can say I am sorry.

5. Step #4: Talk About It
People sometimes get mad if they think you are being mean and nasty.
If you were not trying to be mean and nasty, then you have to tell them that.
