Red- the color of emotional intensity Highly visible Brings text and image to the foreground Associated with energy, danger, strength, power, love, passion, desire As an accent color it stimulates people to make quick decisions

Pink, Burgundy, and Brown Pink – romance, love, friendship, feminine qualities Burgundy – willpower, anger, rage, leadership, malice Brown – stability; denotes masculine qualities

Orange – combines the energy of red and the happiness of yellow Associated with joy, sunshine, enthusiasm, happiness, creativity, attraction, success, encouragement Gold – evokes a felling of prestige Associated with illumination, wisdom, wealth Symbolizes high quality

Yellow – the color of sunshine Associated with joy, happiness, intellect, energy, cheerfulness *Later associated with cowardice Usually evokes pleasant, cheerful feelings

Green – the color of nature Symbolizes growth, harmony, freshness, fertility, and all thing natural Has an emotional correspondence with safety Darker green associated with money, the financial world, banking, and Wall Street Associated with ambition, greed, and jealousy

Other shades of green… Yellow green – sickness Olive green – peace Aqua – healing and protection

Blue – the color of the sky and sea Associated with depth and stability, tranquility, calmness, and precision Symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, heaven Navy blue – knowledge, power, integrity, seriousness

Purple – combines the stability of blue and the energy of red Associated with royalty Symbolizes power, nobility, luxury, & ambition Conveys extravagance and wealth Associated with wisdom, dignity, independence, creativity, mystery, & magic Light purple – evokes romantic or nostalgic feelings Dark purple – evokes gloom and sad feelings

White – color of perfection Associated with light, goodness, innocence, purity, and virginity Means safety, purity, and cleanliness Has positive connotation Depicts faith and purity In advertising: associated with coolness, cleanliness, simplicity, angels, hospitals, doctors, and sterility

Black Associated with authority and power, elegance, formality, death, evil, mystery, fear, and the unknown Often has a negative connotation A formal, elegant, and prestigious color Symbol of grief Represents nightlife and sophistication

Silver Associated with the sleek and modern Symbolizes riches, glamour, dignity
