Joint Information Systems Committee 22/08/2015 | Supporting education and research | Slide 7 Over Zealous Programme Director, 26 th November 1997 > My main feeling is that unless something can be done to radically > speed it up, it will not get client acceptance. Even things like > progressive display might help, as Netscape has done with images. But > I spent so long just twiddling, staring at an un-changing screen, > wondering if anything was happening or if it was broken. Progress bars would help, provided they are updated. > I begin to wonder whether network delivery is possible!

Joint Information Systems Committee 22/08/2015 | Supporting education and research | Slide 8 Lorraine Estelle, 9 January 2008 Dear Members You may be interested to know that analysis of the EDINA logs show that December saw the registration of the 100,000 Digimap OS Collection user! The total at the end of December was 100, that's about 51 registrations each working day for the last 8 years. Kind regards Lorraine
