9 University Partnerships Research partnerships with Canadian universities are a key element of Statistics Canada’s agriculture and food research program University partnerships have a number of objectives: enhance the Division's analytic capacity increase the quality and breadth of quantitative analysis facilitate broader publication of research results leverage scarce research resources develop employment opportunities for students

11 Selecting Research Questions Research questions are identified in one of two ways: the result of on-going discussions with staff at AAFC regarding the long-term research questions of government agriculture and food issues that are subjects of public debate and of general interest to Canadians.
