Learning Outcome: Today you will learn to identify different viewpoints on B.C. joining Confederation and reasons for Vancouvers emergence as our primary city.

You will be numbered 1-3 1=Anti-confederationist 2= Confederationist 3= Annexationists

Individual Task-- 1. First write out your definition. Paraphrase the definition in your own words.. 2. Summarize in your own words the viewpoint of your group. 3. Determrine three valid reasons why this viewpoint is held by this group.

Group Task #2 1. Join together with other Colonists and proceed to share your viewpoints on the idea of Confederation. Filling Out LM 6.6- Confederation Debates.. 2. When finished read the final paragraph on page 226 and summarize the final outcome on the back of LM 6/6

British Columbia is a Multi- Cultural Province. Why is this the case? Where did early immigrants come from and why did they come to B.C?

Learning Outcomes: Today you will identify factors that supported immigrants coming to British Columbia, and the contributions these groups made to our province.

Task 1: You will be assigned an immigrant group to study: 1. Kanakas 2. Black Immigrants 3. Jewish Immigrants 4. Chinese Immigrantse
