ARE YOU COVERED?

1. Liability Coverage 2. Accident Coverage 3. Volunteer Coverage

Liability Insurance – Generally, covers incidents/injury resulting from a wrongful act/judgment of the insured (UK employees & volunteers – while acting within their scope of duties). This means we were at fault or contributed to the incident. All covered events/activities MUST be UK sponsored and supervised.

Coverages: 1. KaCo General Liability Insurance (must be purchased by counties) **Does have exclusions such as livestock, shooting sports, farm equipment, etc. **Counties want Errors & Omissions coverage – decision making errors **Counties want Non-owned Auto coverage – for transportation in an employee’s & leader’s personal vehicle. UK Risk Management does not cover this at all! KaCo coverage is primary for this. **Read your declarations page and policy for coverage and exclusions. 2. UK Risk Management (Provided by UK) **Covers liability with exception of motorized watercraft – does pickup those exclusions from KaCo such as shooting sports, livestock, etc. **UK Risk Management recommends excess coverage for accidents – especially for high risk activities/events. **Contact Information: Todd Adkins, ( ) for

Accident Insurance – Generally, covers incidents/injury resulting from accidents – no fault of employees/volunteers in charge. Covers those accidents/injuries which may not be covered by liability insurance plan.

Possible Accident Coverages: **Generally covers accidents and injuries where there is no liability on the part of the UK employee or volunteer -- trips, falls, horseplay, “accidents”, etc. 1. Can purchase Accident Coverage through KaCo or other insurance carrier. Contact agent for more information and quote. 2. Can purchase American Income Life **Can cover entire clubs – both leaders and participants – all activities – all year long **Can cover specific events/activities as well **Covers primary or secondary whichever is best for injured 3. Excess Insurance (can be purchased through UK Risk Management) **Cover on a per event basis **Covers both participants & leaders

Volunteer Insurance – Provides additional accident, liability and auto coverage for VOLUNTEERS while performing their volunteer duties. It is important to consider whether or not you have insurance that will cover injuries/accidents to the volunteers themselves. Liability policies do NOT cover injuries to volunteers while they are acting in a leadership role! Instead - -volunteers are considered UK employees and therefore not covered for injuries to themselves.
