Points to Ponder Do you have WiFi or cell access where you need it? What kind of data plan do you have? Use app or use mobile site? Apps have to be renewed, updated. Web sites do not. Some apps (i.e. Epocrates) have more resources than mobile friendly web site, and some mobile friendly sites have (Access Medicine) more resources than the app. Some resources still don’t have mobile sites, just apps. Summer/Fall

What do you want to do? 1. Set up icon for mobile library site? 2. Loading apps on your device for the first time? 3. Renew your apps? 4. Switch apps to a new device? 5. Load an additional device with your apps? 6. Update your current apps? 11 Instructions are available for each of these. Get the handout you need. Summer/Fall 2014

Do you want to add an iPad? Two devices are a problem with ◦ PEPID will not allow 2 devices on one registration ( ) Not a problem with ◦ Epocrates: allows multiple  iPhone and iPad = 1 license ◦ uCentral: allows 1 smartphone and 1 tablet on 1 account ◦ Dynamed: 1 serial # = 5 devices ◦ NMCD: Seems to work on 2 with 1 account 14Summer/Fall 2014

How This Works – New Registration Online: Register for each Product 1.Create account 2.Get username and password 3.“Purchase” product for $0 On the device: 1.Find product in App Store/GooglePlay 2.Install 3.Sign in and download content over wireless In 12 months: renew subscription online 15Summer/Fall 2014

Go to Settings> WiFi, turn on, select FSUMED, Connect, enter password collegeofmed1 LTE(4G) faster than Wi-Fi. Turn off wireless.
