 Start at a young age  as young as 5 years old  puberty due to hormones  Decrease after a period of time  fewer attacks and shorter duration  average duration 25 years

 Most common  Pain in back of head and neck  ‘Band-like’ pressure  Pain affects both sides of head  Many causes  Varying duration

 Second most common  Intense, throbbing, pounding pain  Usually one spot  More complicated and difficult to manage  Unknown causes  May last for days

 Repeated  Usually short lived  Pain behind one or both eyes  May come twice a day  Unknown causes
