© University of Reading October 2009 Excavations – General Rules For excavation work on university land you must have a Permit to Dig All work must be covered by a risk assessment All ground works must be considered to be near live utilities unless you have specific information that it is otherwise All accidents and incidents must be reported to your line manager and the UoR project or maintenance manager

© University of Reading October 2009 Permit To Dig The permit must be requested in advance (at least 5 working days) to give us time to provide the information. Permits are still required if you are carrying out a full survey as part of the works.
