Presentation transcript:

EXPLANATION: ULAT lesson 1.12 is a very long lesson, containing both a presentation of new vocabulary and extensive grammatical review activities. Assuming a class period of roughly 50 minutes in length, at a minimum, it is a lesson that should take three days for students to master and for the teacher to deliver.

EXPLANATION: On the first day, the teacher should have sufficient time to review the personal pronouns and verbs learned thus far, as well as their corresponding gestures, as well as simple verb conjugation, leading the students through the sections of the lesson reviewing negation and question formation.

STEP 3d. From the previous day EXPLANATION: On Day 2, the teacher might first choose to review the final step from the previous day in order to verify and reinforce the students’ comprehension of conjugation, question formation and negation. Once that has been done, the students are led to practice the oral presentation found in section 8 and for which they will receive a grade.

EXPLANATION: For the third day, based on the oral presentation practice from the second day, the teacher must make a determination as to whether the students are prepared to make their oral presentations. If not, one solution might be to give them further practice and then to make an initial presentation of the topic of the next lesson before returning to the evaluation of the oral presentations on the fourth day.

STEP 3d. From the previous day EXPLANATION: In any case, this sample lesson demonstrates the need for teachers to break down the ULAT lesson plans into segments corresponding to their class duration and their students’ needs.
