INDEX Adventurer Club objectives Why have Adventurer devotions? Creative Ideas for Devotions Conclusion

Adventurer Club Objectives Objectives The Adventurer Club provides fun & creative ways for children. to develop a Christ-like character; to experience the joy and satisfaction of doing things well; to express their love for Jesus in a natural way; to learn good sportsmanship and strengthen their ability to get along with others; to discover their God-given abilities and to learn how to use them to benefit self and serve others; to discover God's world; to improve their understanding of what makes families strong; to develop parental support for the training of children.

Why have Adventurer devotions? Take A Look at Daniel Daniel knew how to listen to God throughout the day. Daniel 6:10: "But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God."

Why have Adventurer devotions? Like Daniel, we want Adventurers to seek God, walk with God and follow His footsteps. God was able to do amazing things in the life of Daniel. Much of it was because Daniel was willing to seek God's face and take time to listen to His will.

Why have Adventurer devotions? Bible devotions are designed to help us achieve a closer relationship with God. Devotions are short, concise and don't take long to read, but they give us a thought that will carry us through the day with our focus on God.

Creative Ideas for Devotions LEGOS Read bible story or nature tale and have children create items related to the devotional story. Ideas are endless…

Creative Ideas for Devotions TUG of WAR Read Bible story or nature tale regarding strength and weakness, good over evil; temptation and overcoming tempation…

Creative Ideas for Devotions CHARADES Split club into 2 groups and have Adventurers pick a Bible story to act out. Each group will need to guess the Bible story acted out by the other groups.

Creative Ideas for Devotions JENGA GAME Remove Sin – Name a sin and remove a block Memory Verse – 2 Teams / have each team recite a memory verse then remove a block

Creative Ideas for Devotions THE BIBLE & HEALTHY FOODS Share fruits from Bible to reinforce that God created many tasty and healthy things to eat. Fruits and Nuts Apples (Song of Solomon 2:5) Almonds (Genesis 43:11; Numbers 17:8) Figs (Nehemiah 13:15; Jeremiah 24:1-3) Grapes (Leviticus 19:10; Deuteronomy 23:24) Melons (Numbers 11:5; Isaiah 1:8) Olives (Isaiah 17:6; Micah 6:15) Pistachio Nuts (Genesis 43:11)

Creative Ideas for Devotions BIBLE STORIES Share a Bible story, then have adventures do puzzles and color pictures of that story.

Creative Ideas for Devotions THE NAMES OF GOD Create signs with the different names of God on them. Decorate the signs with pictures that depict the name. – For example, for God our Provider, you could draw and or paste pictures of a house, a plate of food or a piece of clothing – Have magazine picture cut outs ready for the adventurers to choose which align with the names of God.

Creative Ideas for Devotions MEMORY VERSE GAME Objective is to have kids memorize a Bible verse. Select a short memory verse Write verse on board and have kids read it 2-3 times. Cover a word and have club read verse again. Repeat process over and over till all the words of the verse are covered and the kids can recite the verse completely. BIBLE

Creative Ideas for Devotions MEMORY VERSE GAME Objective: Review already learned Bible verses. Create circle and inform kids the Bible verse they will recite Pick a child to say the 1 st word of the Bible verse and the next child and the right will say the 2 nd word on the verse and so on. The child that does not remember the next correct word of the verse, will sit down and the next child on his/her right will have a turn to continue. The game is over when all the kids standing can repeat the bible verse accurately. Great practice for Red ZONE

Creative Ideas for Devotions TEACHING BROTHERLY LOVE Hugging Game Have the adventurers stand and instruct them that they have to create a group hug based on the number you call out. Children will run and hug each other to complete the number. Children left out of a group hug, then sit down till you just have 2 or a few kids left. Note: This game will reveal the bonds that many kids share with other as well as identify kids that are shy and have few friends.

Creative Ideas for Devotions BIBLE VERSE SEARCH GAME Read bible story and reference several bible texts. Have adventurers search for the Bible verses. Rules: 1.Have 2 (or more) adventurers sitting in a chair with a Bible on their head. 2.Have other adventurers standing behind each one that is sitting, with their hands behind their backs. 3.Call out a Bible verse and have the adventurer which is standing guide the one that is sitting (with the Bible on his head at all times) to turn pages either left or right till he finds the page that has the verse and then read it out loud. 4.Whoever reads the verse first gets a point. 5.Game helps children learn order of the books of the Bible.

Conclusion The Adventurer Club provides fun & creative ways for children to develop a Christ-like character. Make devotions fun. Involve your entire club in devotion activities that make kids think, move, act, laugh, learn and grow with Jesus.
