Court Records Management I.C.A.R. 37 and 38 Scanning

General Considerations ICAR: Idaho Court Administrative Rules. The objective of these rules (37 and 38) is to establish minimum standards for preservation, destruction or disposition of court records. ICAR 37 deals with civil cases. ICAR 38 deals with criminal and juvenile cases.

I.C.A.R. 37 Letter (a): general standards for retention. Letter (b): preservation and destruction of records. Letter (c): notice to the Historical Society. Letter (d): sealed records.

I.C.A.R. 38 Letter (a): general standards for retention. Letter (b): exception for people incarcerated, on probation, parole or rehabilitation program. Letter (c): Deals with exhibits for people sentenced to life or death.

I.C.A.R. 38 (continued) Letter (d): preservation and destruction of records. Recordings Letter (e): Notice to the Historical Society. Letter (f): sealed records. A note on paid and dismissed citations.
