What is a letter to the editor? A letter to the editor is a letter sent to a publication about issues of concern from its readers.

Why would someone write a letter to the editor? Typically people who write letters to the editor are looking to share their opinions AND persuade fellow readers.

What does a good letter to the editor need? Hook Writer’s opinion is clear The writer includes specific evidence to support their opinion Organized argument Conclusion- asks reader to take an action
