DURANGO AEROSPACE DESIGN TEAM

Who We Are: An elective class for all grades at Durango High School Our curriculum is based on simulating the aerospace industry RFP process Student-led cohort model in which students lead sections of designers in responding to the RFP From the class, we choose up to 14 students for the competition team Designing the Classroom of the Future, DADT

Who We Are: If we submit one of the top 4 proposals, we are invited to the world finals of the International Space Settlement Design Competition, held at NASA in July. At the world finals, we team up with three international schools to form a corporation. Language, gender and cultural boundaries a-plenty! DADT: Designing the Classroom of the Future 42 hours for 50-slide presentation. Winning the contract = world championship (we’ve won 6 times). As a result, we’ve cultivated relationships with Engineers, Universities and Aerospace Corporations

Now it’s Your Turn! Envision the ideal classroom of the future. Look 30 years ahead and dream. What will the physical environment of the optimal classroom look and feel like? Successful designs must propose innovative solutions to current issues surrounding physical, social, emotional, or behavioral health of their students. DADT: Designing the Classroom of the Future Team members will bring the RFP to your table and will guide you through the design process. Warning: As in our process, we will give you too much to do with too little time.
