Passchendaele Passchendaele was one of the war's worst battles. The unspeakable conditions led to terrible losses -- nearly 260,000 Allied casualties, including over 15,000 Canadians killed and wounded. This suffering didn’t produce much except it did help wear down the German forces more than any other battle. Passchendaele represents the horrors of WW1.

Vimy Ridge The Battle of Vimy Ridge was a battle in France during WW1. The main combatants were the Canadian Corps against the Germans. The battle took place from 9 April to 12 April 1917. The Canadian Corps won because of their meticulous planning, powerful artillery support, and extensive training. The battle was the first time when all four divisions of the Canadian Forces fought together.

The Christmas Truce On December 25, 1914  opposing soldiers  lowered their guns – calling a temporary truce and celebrated together  with goodwill, peace, love and Christmas cheer..and even a soccer match.
